A 3-day, 285-mile supported road ride from Athens to Savannah, Ga raising awareness for the proposed Georgia Hi-Lo Trail.
Ride Options:
Ride 1, 2 or all 3 days!
FRIDAY, 10/20: Athens to Tennille (106 MILES)
SATURDAY, 10/12: Sandersville to Statesboro (101 MILES)
SUNDAY, 10/22: Statesboro to Savannah (78 MILES)
*With an option to ride a century (100-mile route) on Sunday, 10/22.

Gravel Ride: 65% on Georgia dirt & gravel roads with 35% on connected paved roads.
A 4-day, 285-mile supported gravel ride from Athens to Savannah, Ga raising awareness for the proposed Georgia Hi-Lo Trail.

This gravel ride route has been created by MTB Atlanta’s Executive Director, Brett Davidson. The Gravel ride will be stewarded by MTB Atlanta.

Start: Either Thursday, October 19 (gravel ride) or Friday, October 20 (road ride) at 8:00 a.m. in Downtown Athens.
Ends: Sunday, October 22 from noon – 5 p.m. @ Service Brewing in Savannah (574 Indian Street, Savannah).

For those needing long-term parking in Athens or Savannah to park your car while you’re off on your bike having the time of your life!
Athens long-term parking: Location near start line in Downtown Athens (small fee- TBD)
Statesboro long-term parking: Statesboro CVB (free)
Savannah long-term parking: City of Savannah surface parking lot at 501 W. Bay Street. $23/day. Pay at meter on-site.

- Road Ride begins in Downtown Athens at 8am on Friday, 10/20/23.
- All meals and snacks during ride are included in ride registration fee.
We’re excited to announce that Snooze Box is now an option for all three nights of the GRAVEL ride. Road cyclists are welcome to boox a Snooze Box too. However, you’ll just have Tennille & Statesboro available to you.
GRAVEL nights for Snooze Box:

The cost is $900 for one Snooze Box. One Snooze Box can sleep 5 people (with three twin beds and one double), so if no one wants to share a fold down couch, you can fit 4 people. This breaks down to $225/person total for three nights if you have 4 people sharing the snooze box.

Things to know:
- Snooze Box won’t have an overnight in Athens or Savannah.
- You can leave your luggage, beer, and other things in your snooze box as it travels from each overnight location.
- To get your things to the Snooze Box in White Plains and to Savannah – we have a luggage truck you can use anytime to transport your things.
- We have an enclosed trailer your bike can “sleep” in if you like.
- All food is included in your Athens to Savannah experience.
- Shuttles are included in your Athens to Savannah experience.

We will have a location near Hotel Indigo where cyclists can leave their cars overnight for the duration of the ride until they return back to Athens post-ride

Overnight accommodations in White Plains are a mixture of cabins, private rooms, Snooze Box, tent camping, air mattresses in an open-air pavilion and Dry RV camping.
We do have shower trucks and restrooms available for those in the Snooze Boxes, camping or air mattresses in the open-air pavillion.

This is where road cyclists & gravel cyclists meet. We will be starting together, finishing together & overnighting together for the remainder of the ride.
Hotel: Quality Inn Sandersville
AthSav staff will shuttle cyclists, bags and bikes between Downtown Tennille and this hotel (only 3-mile distance).

Camping in Tennille Park for $25 – $15 fee (everything here is within one block: downtown Tennille with dining, park) Inside and outside camping options available. If you’re camping outside, you need to bring all of your gear. If camping inside, bring an air mattress. Showers will be available for those camping at this location via a shower truck.

We’ll be posting another Statesboro Hotel as soon as the Holiday Inn Express fills up.
Camping at 7th Mile Farm for $25-$15 fee
AthSav staff will shuttle cyclists and their bikes between the Statesboro finish line/start line & 7th Mile Farm.
Camping provided outside or in summer camp cabins (with air conditioning and private indoor showers). Men’s bunk cabin & women’s bunk cabin with 12 beds per cabin.

Free shuttles available from Savannah to Athens pre-ride.
Catch a shuttle on Wednesday, October 18 or Thursday, October 19 to get from Savannah to Athens. Fly into Savannah or leave your car in Savannah while you’re on the bike ride.
NEED A RIDE BACK TO ATHENS (OR STATESBORO) POST-RIDE?
Free shuttles available from Savannah to Athens post-ride.
First shuttles leave Savannah headed back to Statesboro & Athens a few hours after the ride ends on Sunday: Departing Savannah at 3:30 p.m. Another shuttle back to Athens departs at 10am on Monday morning, October 23, the day after we complete the ride.
